A Big 'Ol Mess

Currently, this is how my whole house feels. Haphazard, disorganized, and in a serious need of a scrub. (Lest you think yesterday's post is indicative of the state of my entire house.) The real problem, however, lies in my complete lack of motivation to do anything about it.

Can anyone else relate?

  1. Oh yes, I can relate big time. We had an eventful week this week and my house shows it. But all I want to do is sit down and watch the little ones play, or chase after some rays of sunshine, or read lovely blogs. So that's what I'll do. The house can wait... :)

  2. YES!!! And I'm sure that your house is stylish even in a state of disarray!! But just the other day I looked around and realized that my house has never been so in need of a deep spring clean as it is this year. I really need Dave to take the kids somewhere for a whole day and just go for it!! But today, let's enjoy the sun, okay?!

  3. I will never have a house that is caught up again, and I'm coming to terms with it. Although I'm still particular about my floors!

Bonnie's idea about a whole day is awesome. I can't get anything done w/ Mikey around. I want to tackle one room at a time and clean each one, but also lack the motivation and lack the large chunks of time. Blah.

  4. Everyone can relate at some point in time! My stepdaughter has moved in and I'm struggling to keep up with the laundry and dishes. Yet, I've become okay with the laundry sitting in a basket for 2-3 days because I just don't care!:0)

  5. That's why I had my mother come visit this weekend. Yesterday she washed, dried, and folded every scrap of clothing in the house and helped me clean out the hall cupboards, which were a WASTELAND. And today she's helping me clean out and reorganize the kitchen cupboards. Gotta love a compulsively clean mom who is willing to help!

  6. Ummmm, yes I can relate! I think it's called the winter doldrums.

  7. But it is springtime and mudtime and there's the call of fording of creeks and splashing through rain puddles...galoshes are a must and at least they remain outside the door!

So you see what looks like a mess to one looks like fun and poetry to another!

  8. I most certainly can relate! I'm desperately trying to keep the house clean while sorting through boxes and arranging things. With kids I think it's just the norm to have things out of sorts.
